The Ramadan crescent moon sighted in Pakistan, the Ruet e Hilal Committee announced on Tuesday.
The holy month of Ramadan will begin from Wednesday 14 April 2021.
The Chairman of Committee Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad presided over the meeting. Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO), the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), and the Ministry of Science and Technology were also part of the meeting.
Addressing a press conference, Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad announced that Ramadan moon has been sighted in various cities of Pakistan, including Hyderabad, Karachi, and Islamabad.
Chairman of Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, had earlier said that people will observe the first fast (Roza) and Eid on the same day across the country.
Roza (Fasting) is one of the five pillars of Islam.
It is mandatory for Muslims who have reached adolescence to fast during Ramadan, Fasting allows Muslims to devote themselves to their faith and come closer to Almighty Allah.
During the month of Ramazan, Muslims avoid eating or drinking between dawn and sunset. This is called fasting.
