Jemima Goldsmith, former spouse of Prime Minister Imran Khan, criticised him over his controversial remarks over linking the mounting rape cases with vulgarity.
Jemima Goldsmith, condemned PM Imran Khan for blaming women for their “inappropriate” dress for the surge in sexual harassment and rape cases in Pakistan.
Citing a verse from the Holy Quran, Jemima said the onus of the horrific crime of sexual assault is “on men” and women are not at all responsible in any sense.
Jemima on her official Twitter handle quoted a Quranic verse.
“Say to the believing men that they restrain their eyes and guard their private parts.” Surah An-Nur
Jemima on Twitter furher added “The Imran I knew used to say, ‘Put a veil on the man’s eyes not on the woman.”
I’m hoping this is a misquote/ mistranslation. The Imran I knew used to say, “Put a veil on the man’s eyes not on the woman.” https://t.co/NekU0QklnL
