PM Imran Khan tells UNDP that it would approach IMF for financial relief package
Govt to approach IMF for covid relief package

PM Imran Khan attended a launching ceremony of United Nations Development Programme UNDP’s Pakistan National Human Development Report (NHD) on equality.

Addressing the ceremony, PM Imran Khan said that due to coronavirus pandemic the economy of the country devastated affecting poor segment of the society and government priority is to bring them on top.

PM Imran further said that his government would approach the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for financial assistance funds & for second relief package as third COVID-19 wave had gripped the country with has affected service sector hit badly.

PM Imran Khan said that unfortunately government will have to review our financial aid program for poor “Ehsaas Program” due to lack of earning and regressive economic situation of the country.

PM Imran Khan said he wished to uplift poor masses of Pakistan but globally our population is hit due to covid pandemic, thus he will reach IMF soon to protect the most vulnerable in our society.”

“So I think, this is time for second package and we will obviously talk to IMF,” the prime minister said.
