Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed has rejected the reports of a rift between Jahangir Tareen and Prime Minister Imran Khan, stressing that Tareen is an important member of the party.
“Jahangir Tareen is an important member of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). I don’t think there are differences between him and the prime minister,” Rashid told a press conference on Wednesday.
“Prime Minister Imran has made it clear that he will not forgive those responsible for the sugar and wheat crisis in the country,” Rashid said. “In the past, a lot of people have benefited from the subsidies provided. When the [forensic] report is released on April 25, everything will be public.
Criticizing the media, Rashid said the media had forgotten all about the coronavirus pandemic in the country and had instead turned its attention to the wheat and sugar report.
